THE EVERYDAY RE-IMAGINED

ENVIRONMENTAL

'THE WRITING IS ON THE WALL' As mankind struggles with social, technological and ecological issues and the future of the world is by no means stable, I noticed cryptic scenes etched and stained into walls pr-empting outcomes and problems. Messages further clarified by the addition of my own images to the original photographed impressions; truly the writing was found on each wall.

Centre top of image is a starshaped piercing in the wall, starlike. At the horizontal halfway point and just beneath is a mother and baby monkey huddled, looking to camera.

HOPE

Composite photograph of textured wall with some peeling paper. Poking from the peeling are exotic lush green plants, whilst being overlooked by the form of a man made from dripped paint. The main part of the wall has industrial buildings superimposed.
RIP
Peeling paper on a wall shows a burn forest, the rest of the distresed wall has feint imges of the same burnt tree trunks with a hoopoe bird at the bottom looking on

HOoPoE 

A photographed cement rendered wall with a graphic representation of a face profile, to the staining photographs of an eye, a building scene and a cloud hovering above has been added. At the bottom of the monotoned construct is a Thrush looking up as in song.
THRUSH & TEN CRANES  
To a monotoned heavily distressed wall image, resembling a small cliff edge with sky texture and a suggested large tree is the background. Burning rubbish and broken bottles has been added at the base with a foraging urban fox. Above the cliff edge a small copse of pine trees and telegraph poles.
DES RES  
A section of a city wall, by way of paint and grime is split into three panels. The top width wide and blue, the bottom left third is grimy and neutral, the bottom two thirds left very grimy. In each section respectively: Top-is a vast building site in the distance scene with 10 cranes. Bottom left- In overgrown fields are two deer grazing. Bottom right- Grey and black grime with a large white fingerprint overlain.
FINGERPRINT  
Depicting rising oceans flooding a flower bed and threatening a distant skyscraper city, the image is derived from textures suggested on a rendered wall. The image is split into 2/3 sea and horizon city and 1/3 red flowers green grass flooded.
FOOTPRINT  
A solo cloud hovers over 4 shapes. The cloud is restrained in this position by four concrete slabs and yellow rope. The lead LHS shape represents a whale head appearing put of the ocean, the other three shapes icebergs. The whole image is monotoned in greys and the original is building cladding panel with rivets
